HRM, Prof. Obi Chike Edozien, during his "Igu-Aho" speech warmly expressed his high sense of gratitude, for the great support ahaba people demonstrated at the last "tripple celebration" last 2 months at his palace.
Still in his speech, a brief explaination and significance of the the ceremony was rendered, and stated that the the lack of peace and love in the town is the cause of the town's seeming retrogresive pace at the ever-changing face of our modern world. HE also allayed the fear in the minds of tthe people about the "EZE OFU-ANI" myth and assured his subjects that things will always remain how they should be culturally.
This same clarification HE said, was shared at his last tour of the US and some european nations, where he had some meetings with some ahaba sons and daugthers, in view of the so much quarrell and fighting of his people both at home and abroad, HRM, Prof.Obi Chike Edozien, brought to the minds of all, the historical account of the curses placed on each other by Ezeanyawu and Nnebisi, as the possible cause of the present state of things in the town, and appealed to all to join forces in this great cause to bring AHABA back to her past glories.
The cow, HRM Asagba Ahaba presented to the AHABA community was received with thanks, HRM performed the offical ceremonial "kick off" killing of the cow, by presenting the cow to all, and pronouncing that he has killed the cow, some of the Olinzele title holders, accompanied HRM to perform this function.
After the "tia-obu ndu" joyful exclamation, the royal father danced to the Egwu-ota, along side his wife, and other traditional chiefs present.
HRM Asagba Ahaba, later through the MC pleaded to the youths to enjoy the "ugbo" and "ine" festivals peacefully, that Ahaba is still the the state capital and can not afford to rub her reputation on the mud, but must maintain her vantage possition of pace setting, in showing to other towns of the state, that she is ahead in setting the standard of peace.
Wth the igu-aho 2005, just concluded as well as the beautiful remarks of the Asagba of Ahaba concerning the roles of the youth in building and maintaining the peace of the town for both natives and strangers.
A cross- section of youths present were interviewed about their perception of the ceremony, many of them expressed their happiness and support for their monarch, and expreesed openly that they never expected that HE will in his speech clear the air about the so much town-talk of the "EZE OFU-ANI" myth and other associated misconceptions, propelled by the towns enemies.
Some of the youths promised that they will do everything in their powers to see that peace returns to the town. N otable amonst them is a group known as "AWELE-UJOM" whose leader, promised to work with some youths between 18years to 30years, on a project that will chart a new roadmap to the peace and progress the town so much need now.
